The Istanbul circuit will host the 13th round of this year’s Formula 1 World Championship, the Turkish Grand Prix. Istanbul is divided in two by the Bosphorus strait and the race track is located on the Asian side of the city.
Intercity Istanbul Park is a modern track, designed by Hermann Tilke and the first ever Turkish GP was held there in 2005. The anticlockwise track is 5.3 kilometres long, with 14 corners, 6 to the right and 8 to the left. It features strong changes of gradient and particularly demanding corners, such as the iconic Turn 8, which takes almost 6 seconds to complete and features four apices. The race in Istanbul takes place on 15 November.
